Hello. I’m Tom, and this is my personal blog. It is, first and foremost, a miscellany of my personal experiences and opinions, but may include other things that interest me… Simply because they do. You know, it might even include the odd recipe.

To cut a long story short, I use it as a space in which I can explore the thoughts and ideas that sit outside what I call my ‘professional projects’, things that make use of my experience and expertise in art, craft, creative practice, fashion, linguistics, media practice and textiles; I explore and interrogate these over at The Five to Nine, alongside my personal relationships with them.

So, this means you’re left with broad and extraordinary personal interests and obsessions including, but most definitely not limited to, baking, books, cats, coffee, comics, crochet, disco, doughnuts, drag, embroidery, France, gender, Japan, knitting, languages, lumberjacks, maps, pigeons, piña coladas, polka dots, queerness, sci-fi, Spain, stationery, swearing, tarot, teapots, witchcraft and writing. Oh, and putting things in alphabetical order – as you’ve already seen. Or numerical. Or rainbowbetical. That’s, er, pretty much all you need to know about me, really.

I live in a lovely flat right by the sea on the south coast of England, where you can usually find me trying to fit just one more thing in the washing machine and saving all the jam jars from being recycled because I’ll find something wonderful to do with them. One day. Maybe.

If you really do want the long story, you can find it here.
